This organization is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, religious, and cultural foundation established by and for its members. It is based on the Holy Quran’s call for prayers, consultation for community affairs, and charity (Sura Shura, verse 38), and 1982 Canadian Constitution (section 2 (c) and 2(d)), which guarantees freedom of assembly and freedom of association.
Mission
Provide cultural support and platform for community members of Afghan heritage in Hamilton, helping them become active participants in Canadian society with confidence and hope. While preserving their unique cultural and religious identity, AICCH also seeks to guide its members in developing their talents and fostering the skills of future generations, contributing to society through hard work, unity, integrity, and harmony.
Vision
Afghan community, AICCH members, in the Hamilton are an active part of this society and contributing positively into the cultural diversity of this region. They are motivated to build a better future for themselves and their country with fostering their next generation capacity and talents.
Goals
The goals of AICCH are:
A- Establish a central location for Afghan community members living in Hamilton area to perform their religious rituals, celebrations, and cultural & national events.
B- Provide a platform for education of Islamic traditions, values, the Quran, and other resources.
C- Teach Afghan languages, history, & geography.
D- Create a central space where members can pass on their religious teachings to younger generations.
E- Provide a space for members to observe funeral ceremonies and traditions.
F- Assist with the sponsorship of eligible refugees connected to the community members.
G- Promote multiculturalism and social awareness for Afghan community in the Hamilton area.
H- To support newcomers associated with AICCH members by helping them integrate smoothly into this community.
